Nothing works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2336\" data-end=\"2518\">The equalization tank was covered with fine white oil droplets\u2014<br data-start=\"2399\" data-end=\"2402\" \/>so tiny that they looked like floating pearls.<br data-start=\"2448\" data-end=\"2451\" \/>This was not normal <strong data-start=\"2471\" data-end=\"2483\">free oil<\/strong>; it was <strong data-start=\"2492\" data-end=\"2517\">highly emulsified oil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2593\">No matter how much flocculant they added, the water remained milky white.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2595\" data-end=\"2617\">This was a clear sign:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2733\"><strong data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2733\">This is NOT a PAC problem \u2014 it\u2019s an emulsification problem.<br data-start=\"2680\" data-end=\"2683\" \/>You must break the emulsion before flocculation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2735\" data-end=\"2738\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"2740\" data-end=\"2810\"><strong data-start=\"2743\" data-end=\"2810\">Why Oily Wastewater Is Difficult to Treat \u2014 Three Hidden Truths<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"2812\" data-end=\"2853\"><strong data-start=\"2816\" data-end=\"2853\">1. Oil appears in different forms<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2854\" data-end=\"2904\">This is the biggest misconception in the industry.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2906\" data-end=\"2934\">Oil in wastewater exists as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2938\" data-end=\"2969\"><strong data-start=\"2938\" data-end=\"2950\">Free oil<\/strong> \u2013 easy to remove<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2972\" data-end=\"3012\"><strong data-start=\"2972\" data-end=\"2989\">Dispersed oil<\/strong> \u2013 needs flocculation<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3015\" data-end=\"3093\"><strong data-start=\"3015\" data-end=\"3033\">Emulsified oil<\/strong> \u2013 very difficult, requires a <strong data-start=\"3063\" data-end=\"3091\">demulsifier + flocculant<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3096\" data-end=\"3165\"><strong data-start=\"3096\" data-end=\"3113\">Dissolved oil<\/strong> \u2013 nearly impossible to remove with normal methods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3167\" data-end=\"3354\">Most factories only handle \u201cfree oil.\u201d<br data-start=\"3205\" data-end=\"3208\" \/>But once they switch coolant, add detergents, or the cutting fluid ages, the oil becomes <strong data-start=\"3297\" data-end=\"3311\">emulsified<\/strong>, and standard PAC\/PFS becomes ineffective.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3356\" data-end=\"3359\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"3361\" data-end=\"3411\"><strong data-start=\"3365\" data-end=\"3411\">2. Surfactants make oil droplets \u201csmarter\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3412\" data-end=\"3519\">Modern detergents, coolants, CNC cutting fluids, and emulsifiers coat oil droplets with a protective layer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3521\" data-end=\"3597\">That layer stabilizes the oil in water \u2014<br data-start=\"3561\" data-end=\"3564\" \/>making demulsification essential.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3599\" data-end=\"3706\"><strong data-start=\"3599\" data-end=\"3706\">Without using a demulsifier, oily wastewater will never clarify, no matter how much PAC or PFS you add.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3708\" data-end=\"3711\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"3713\" data-end=\"3775\"><strong data-start=\"3717\" data-end=\"3775\">3. pH, temperature, and conductivity change everything<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3776\" data-end=\"3826\">At the machining plant, I measured the wastewater:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3828\" data-end=\"3888\"><strong data-start=\"3828\" data-end=\"3840\">pH = 9.2<\/strong><br data-start=\"3840\" data-end=\"3843\" \/>This is typical for cutting fluid wastewater.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3890\" data-end=\"3913\">But here\u2019s the problem:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"3917\" data-end=\"3954\"><strong data-start=\"3917\" data-end=\"3954\">PAC barely hydrolyzes at high pH.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3957\" data-end=\"3998\"><strong data-start=\"3957\" data-end=\"3998\">PFS works better but still struggles.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4001\" data-end=\"4057\"><strong data-start=\"4001\" data-end=\"4057\">PAFC performs the best under variable pH conditions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4059\" data-end=\"4110\">If pH is wrong, even the best chemicals won\u2019t
